We're Manzanita, a digital marketing company that builds software to accelerate client campaigns. Our goal is to bring marketing in Japan into the modern era. We're not content building run-of-the-mill solutions; there are enough marketing companies out there doing that already. Our approach has seen success so far, and we're now looking to scale the team and platform even further.

Internship -
Data Scientist


As an intern with Manzanita you will work alongside Tokyo's best data scientists, developers and marketers. This team seeks out challenge, and strives to find solutions before others even identify the problem. We think in innovative and creative ways that are reinventing the marketing landscape in Japan and even globally.

With professional guidance, you will learn new coding techniques to implement, optimize, and perfect client campaigns. We will not sit you in front of a screen and ask you to do data entry. You will be doing mission-critical, real-world work from your first day with us, you’re part of the team.

Job Duties
  • Analyzing client's consumer database
  • Clustering the database using Python
  • Combining and synthesizing data across multiple platforms
  • Assist on other digital marketing related tasks
Required specialized knowledge
  • Knowledge of Python and R
  • Basics in Data Science and Big Data
  • Experience in data analysis with Python or R
Preferred skills
  • Data analysis skills
  • Mathematical and statistical capabilities
  • Outgoing and enthusiastic personality
  • Open to immersing yourself in Japanese work culture
  • Basic knowledge in deep learning
  • Basic knowledge of Tensorflow (or Keras)

Web Designer


As an intern with Manzanita you will work alongside Tokyo's best data scientists, developers and marketers. This team seeks out challenge, and strives to find solutions before others even identify the problem. We think in innovative and creative ways that are reinventing the marketing landscape in Japan and even globally.

You'll closely work with the platform team to build the architecture and design of different projects, you work will have meaningful impact on the outcomes of our models and projects.

Job Duties
  • Web design
  • UX & UI design
  • Icons, gifs & other assets design
Required specialized knowledge
  • Good with web design software(s) (Adobe XD or Figma etc..)
  • Good with Illustrator or similar software (vector work)
  • Basic understanding of UX & UI
  • Basic understanding of colors

As an intern with Manzanita you will work alongside Tokyo's best data scientists, developers and marketers. This team seeks out challenge, and strives to find solutions before others even identify the problem. We think in innovative and creative ways that are reinventing the marketing landscape in Japan and even globally.

You will get your hands on
  • Using psychometrics in the context of advertising
  • Designing communication to trigger decision
  • Produce client assets for digital marketing campaigns
  • Play an active role in the improvement and maintenance of our Psychological model
  • Assist on other digital marketing related tasks
We hope you can
  • Think like a champion and get creative
  • Research and then collate your findings into succinct, logical conclusions
  • Be an active member of our team, and participate in the growth of our body of knowledge — not like other admin-related internships (filing paperwork, etc.)
  • Apply foundational psychological theories to practical situations
  • Speak about current marketing practices to some degree
Preferred Language Ability

Japanese level: JLPT N5 or equivalent (not required, but greatly appreciated)

Good command of English in the context of Psychology — with room to grow, of course!
